Members of the Tulsa Combustion Engineering team are very experienced in the utilization of non-conventional fuels and the art required firing them as Clean Fuels. Either gasification or direct combustion systems are available. The utilization of such fuel requires practical knowledge of the fuel combustion characteristics. In addition, specific process modifications are required to obtain very low emissions with these fuels, which often impact the mechanical design and metallurgy selections for the fired equipment. Specialized knowledge is necessary in the following:
-Air Pollution
-Water Pollution
-Ash and other by-product disposal
-Water/Heating needs
-Safety, Health and Odor Impacts
The Tulsa Combustion team has led the efforts in improving flare technology for the past 30 years. Each team member has a proven track record in providing the best available technology wherever they work.
Our members have set the design standards and were responsible for new product development for the major suppliers. They have been responsible for the overwhelming majority of new products and innovations for these manufacturers.
They have an unparalleled track record and are recognized by Industry as the leading experts in the applied arts of Design, Manufacture and trouble shooting of flares.
They have been the authors of numerous papers and taught schools and seminars world wide on flares and flare designs. They are members of the API 521 sub-committee and have been principle authors in the writing of the new API 537 Documents

Tulsa Combustion Designed Water Bath Heaters have a vessel filled with a transfer media of water or glycol/water mixture and with a process coil are submerged in the media. The fire tube transfers the heat released by the burner to the Water/Glycol which then transfers the heat to the process through the process coil. Our water bath heaters utilize a variety of burner, fire-tube, and coil configurations to meet your project specific demands and needs. Applications such as forced draft and small-bore fire-tube burners can be utilized for high efficiency and low NOx specifications. Coil configurations and metallurgy are selected based on each customer's process requirements.
Tulsa Combustion has the leading experience in process coil design for multi-phase fluids, viscous hydrocarbons, suspended solids, and various gaseous mixtures.
Tulsa Combustion designs direct fired heaters that incorporate one or more burners to provide hot gasses that transfer heat energy to a process liquid or gas flowing directly through coils installed internally on the heater vessel. Direct fired heaters utilize either radiant or convection heat transfer sections or a combination of both transfer methods. These methods can be configured to meet the specific project demands and requirements. Common configurations include vertical cylindrical and horizontal cabin. Direct fired heaters can utilize many different fuels can be designed and manufactured to meet virtually any industry code including ASME and API.
Tulsa Combustion is the leading design and manufacturer of state of the art Industrial burners for applications seeking maximum efficiency, lowest maintainance as well as highest savings cost. Our team of engineers have pioneered the burner industry with a broad range of low-NOx burner systems to meet even the most stringent customer specifications.
